All students wishing to join Civil Air Patrol need to get an application from Major Stark in room 730.

If your not a student at Booker Middle School, and would like to attend Booker Middle School because of its innovative Civil Air Patrol program please call 359-5824.

 

Home schooled students may also participate even if not a student at BMS.

The first Civil Air Patrol School Program in Sarasota was SER-FL-804 at Booker Middle School. It was moved to The Student Leadership Academy in Venice.The Sarasota Military Academy also has a “Schools Program” squadron for their High School Cadets. Students, staff, and parents have requested a new squadron be established at Booker MS, the SER-FL-817 is proud to call BMS home.
Basic Facts:
Would you like to have a Civil Air Patrol Squadron based within your school. Programs can be during the day, at Explo, before or after school. Plus several weekends and summer fun too.

The Civil Air Patrol Drug Demand Reduction program assists regions, wings, and squadrons in ensuring strong cadet programs through prevention, opportunities, education and community outreach programs designed to reduce the potential for illegal/illicit drug use. For Air Force, military members, civilians, retirees, school children and Civil Air Patrol Members.  The mission is to reduce the use and abuse of illegal and illicit drugs through a comprehensive program of education, prevention and opportunity that:

  •      Promotes CAP as a positive community service lifestyle.
  •      Promotes Integrity, Respect, & Manners.
  •      Encourages youth to remain in school.
  •      Focuses on drug abuse education, awareness, and prevention.
  •      Provides positive activities as an alternative to drugs and gang violence.

The United States Air Force provides us with uniforms and equipment. The USAF spends an average of over $600.00 per cadet. All cadets pay is $45.00 to join and $25.00 for their accompaniments. Payment plans, fundraising and SCHOLARSHIPS are available!

Florida Wing Civil Air Patrol Prepared to Serve their State
Through out the state members of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force are trained and are prepared to handle emergencies.  The Civil Air Patrol conducts training and certification sessions all year long, everything from Red Cross First Aid and Shelter Training to Search and Rescue Missions.  CAP works closely with Federal, State and local officials to coordinate disaster relief efforts.  
  
CAP members, performing one of the organization’s main missions Emergency Services, volunteer to assist their community, state and country during a crisis.  Over 3900 members from Florida’s Civil Air Patrol are available to serve the state.  During last years devastating hurricanes, CAP members worked twenty four hours a day for forty five days.  They served in the state and county's EOC centers, maintained communication operations, manned shelters, flew recognizance and transport planes, shut off emergency locator transmitters, cleared debris, distributed over 90,000 pounds food, water, ice and clothing to needy residents, etc, etc.  Adults, called Senior Members and cadets from Florida’s 91 squadrons were joined by teams from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia Wings working together through CAP’s National Operations Center to bring about a coordinated relief response effort.  

The Civil Air Patrol is ready to serve their communities, state and country in times of need.  The Civil Air Patrol is a benevolent, Non-Profit organization, and the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force.
